A Kinect powered customisation mode for an upcoming Ghost Recon game. I don’t know why but I find this kind of augmentation of menus and navigation more interesting than the prospect of playing entire games using the Kinect device.
Just Cause 2 - Impact-death visualisation
‘info-vis’ is getting a tad overcrowded, but this is both morbid AND lovely; two adjectives that aren’t used enough together from my point of view!
The video (created by Jim Blackhurst) plots impact-death scatter-point locations of 11.3 million free-roaming players, and clustered groups of data-points even allow for skeletal landmarks and buildings to become visible.
Its like Photosynth for dead people. Brilliant idea. I’d love to see it for other games. GTA IV spring to mind straight away.
